I originally wrote this back in January 2020. Things have changed slightly since them. While the spread of a global pandemic is scary, it could be the crisis we need to start working together as a nation.

Strange as that may sound, it may take this bizarre and unprecedented situation to see our political climate from a new perspective. We have more opportunity than ever before to show our humanity.

After all, we have a new thing in common. And a new thing to literally survive. It’s not a good thing, but we’ll need to unite in order to overcome the coronavirus. I just thought I’d acknowledge this recent development and how it impacts the rest of this post.
