Intro to CRO and Experimentation
Failures are what we want and we need to learn from them.
Mainly we need to do this fast. CRO is a tool to fail fast.
It’s hard to find examples of website launch failures, but they’re out there. It’s better to know you failed rather than ship without knowing what happened.
This is because the company is focused on output and not outcome
CRO seeks a structured and standardized process to learn faster and fail smaller.
We must ask questions and collect data at the same time to get reliable answers.
We’re bad at decision-making because there’s too much info and not enough meaning.
“The human mind doesn’t run on logic any more than a horse runs on petrol.” — Rory Sutherland
Data is created equal, but we treat it as if it is, especially when it confirms our bias.
